Coffee Grinder
When I grind coffee beans in the morning I hear the whizzing noise of the blade chopping up the beans. What will I risk to use it all?
I remove the top to breathe in a delicious fresh aroma. I pour the grounds out into a filter, and notice there are still loose grounds left in the grinder.
I perform a rhythmic variation of shaking and tapping on the grinder. But that still isn't enough. Without thinking, I stick my finger in the grinder and carefully dance it around the blade to grab every last bit of coffee dust.
Yes, the blade is unlikely to spin while my finger is inside the device - the safety mechanism for the device is well designed. But why do I need to risk mangling my finger to extract everything? When else am I taking and taking and taking and what risks do those unnecessary actions pose to myself, others, and the world?
