We gawk at each other. Staring down at our shoes. Frozen.

The bass and drums start. I can see others moving along, so I start to two step. When I get a feel for the beat, then I can improvise a silly move. I know how to find my way back.

A beat provides a steady pulse for regularity but also room for creativity.

Project management should do the same. It needs to provide enough structure so we can dance along in a coordinated rhythm but not so much to limit the beauty of exploration.
