What's in your coffee cup?

I pulled my own shots of espresso for the first time and it went terribly - nothing would come out besides steam from the machine.

Turns out it is possible to over grind coffee beans. This results in an extraction process where the hot water is not able to flow through at all.

Same thing goes with that really cool idea you keep stuck in your head. As you continue to spend time chewing it over to a finer detail, the more time passes without a single drop to show.
